Can you spot a girl’s face in this beautiful picture below? Actually it’s a segment from a movie poster of the new film starring Sandra Bullock. The movie is called The Premonition, and you can find actual poster inside this article. This reminded me, not only about previous illusion poster, but also about our popular illusion “Hidden Baby”. Believe it or not, the last one kept me occupied for few days until I found the hidden object. Actually a reader helped me to spot it. Spot the object illusions are much fun anyway, and you can find bunch of them in their category. But let’s not rush, first try and spot the lady’s face beneath, then jump to others.

If you have two roughly equivalent eyes you will see a ‘sausage’ floating in front of you in mid air, by following these steps:
1. Hold your hands in front of you, at 20–30 cm distance from you, at eye level.
2. Point your index fingers against each other, leaving about 2 cm distance between them.
3. Now look “through” your fingers, into the distance behind them.
4. The sausage should appear now, and you can change its length by varying the distance between the finger tips.
5. For most observers, the sausage will look blurred, at least initially.
6. If you try to look at the sausage, it will disappear, it is only present if you look at something more distant than your fingers.
7. It helps if the background is rather homogenous and has a color very different from your fingers.

Stare at the black dot for a minute (the longer the better), and watch the colored ‘fluff’ disappear!

Black dots seem to appear and then vanish at the intersections of the horizontal and vertical lines. Strangely, the illusion only seems to work at a distance. If you move your eyes close to the screen, the illusion vanishes.
E. Lingelbach discovered the scintillating grid illusion in 1994.

Do you see a young woman or and old woman?
If you see a young woman, and wish to see the old woman, imagine the ear as an eye, the necklace as a mouth and the chin as a nose.
If you see an old woman, and wish to see the young woman, imagine the eye as an ear, the mouth as a necklace and the nose as a chin.
Your brain wants to flip to either one or the other image but if you study it long enough you might see both images at once. Can you do it?
